In alignment with the spirit of Swachhata Pakhwada (2025–2026) and our commitment to sustainability, the Aninha community observed a Community Outreach Day focused on reducing single-use plastics and nurturing responsible citizenship.
Our students handcrafted eco-friendly paper bags on campus using recycled paper, simple adhesives, and creativity. These bags were then distributed to local vendors in and around our Institute as a practical, respectful nudge toward adopting sustainable alternatives.
What we did
Skill & sustainability workshop: Students learned to fold, reinforce, and finish sturdy paper bags using recycled materials.
Awareness in action: Teams visited nearby stalls and shops to share the handmade bags and speak with vendors about the benefits of plastic reduction.
Community partnership: Vendors warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed interest in continuing the switch to paper or reusable options.
Why it matters
This activity connected classroom values with real-world impact—cultivating environmental stewardship, empathy, and communication skills. By making and distributing paper bags, our students showcased that small, consistent actions can spark meaningful change across our neighbourhood.
A big thank you
We extend our thanks to participating students, faculty mentors, and our supportive local vendors. Together, we’re building a cleaner, kinder community—one bag at a time.
